A week later...

So, I realize that I have been slacking on the blog since last week. Our week got quite crazy! We are finally getting into a family routine. It is so nice to have some sort of structure to our lives.

Last week was pretty uneventful, but somehow was quite busy.

Tuesday was just a day. Aidan had been bugging me for a week to make cookies for Gina. So I caved and we made sugar cookies with icing. He called Gina immediately after he was finished to tell her that he made her cookies. He was pretty proud of himself.

Wednesday was a crazy day. The house that I had listed in New Prague was set to close. So there were a bunch of odds and ends that needed to be tied up. (Things like picking up my signs and lock box.) Aidan got to go to my parents house while I went to closing and they took him to T-ball. Nick had practice, so Aidan and I had dinner with grandma and Jeff. I think Jeff missed us-- he stayed upstairs and chatted.

Thursday was great. Aidan's swimming lessons got switched to Thursday mornings. I love this new schedule. (They were previously at the same time as t-ball) I was able to get a nice, child-free run in afterwards while Aidan played in the Child Center. In future weeks I am hoping to get my run in before swimming so we can go out to the pool after swimming. We had to pick one though since I had my professional pictures re-taken for my new business cards. I am so excited to see them when them come in. We finished our night by taking a trip down to Hastings in Uncle Matt's truck so Nick could buy a wood chipper for our tree filled backyard.

Friday was also a great day. Aidan and I spent the morning running errand s and then met Gina for lunch in Golden Valley. Aidan was phenomenal. We were at the restaurant for almost 2 hours and you could see his halo. I was very proud of him. After lunch we went to Super Target for some groceries and got home right before the rain. We were watching the storms come in and our sunny sky turned black. The sirens were going off and the storm that was suppose to miss us was rotating above our house. After our stint in the basement, we finished our night watching movies on TV and just getting ready for our weekend.

Saturday we had basketball. (yes, again.) I got out of taping this time though and ran the clock for all the games. We got finished cleaning up at about 9:30 and went over to a local bar/restaurant for some dinner. Aidan ate his chicken strips and fries, crawled into my lap and passed out. We laid him in a booth right next to our table- he was out cold. We were waiting for the rain to let up before we went out since the street in front of the restaurant was flooded half way up car tires. Once that cleared, we drove home.

Sunday we cleared away about half of the trees that Nick and Luke cut down a week ago. We are hoping to get the remainder cleaned up this week since the guy that is doing our retaining walls can start as early as Friday. Those trees take a long time to clean up though! (and they combine all my least favorite things- dirt, bugs, and the chance of falling.)
