October at a glance... (and some November)

Okay, so October apparently got busy! I haven't updated since the first week in October!
Looking back, we have done a lot in the past few weeks! A few weeks ago, Nick told me over and over during the day that he had a condo association meeting that night. He had also bought a conference table from his work. So, I rounded up Matt and his big truck and we drove downtown to get Nick and went over to St. Paul to drop him off for the condo meeting only to find out that the condo meeting was the following week! So, we decided to go to Olive Garden for some dinner. (Nick wasn't very happy!)

We went out to dinner twice the weekend of the 16/17th for birthdays. On the 16th we went to Friday's with my family to celebrate Jeff and my dad's birthdays. We had a great time and the food was really good. On the 18th we drove down to Mankato to go to Red Lobster for Nick's brother Ben's birthday. I think everyone but me really enjoyed the food, which is to be expected since seafood isn't my favorite. (It was fine though.)
Aidan only had a three day week of school the third week on October due to MEA. It was so nice to have him home for a few days. We filled his weekend up though! On Friday morning we met Darby, Kristine, and all their kiddos at Caribou and then went out to the apple orchard in Waconia. The orchard was small, but perfect. The kids got to climb on the hay bails, we got a hayride, and then got some apples. It was perfect and the kids were all wonderful!

We came home and made spooky cupcakes and a veggie tray. Later that night, we went over to the Thomas house for a wonderful dinner party! We really had a great time- thanks for the invited Darby!

We came home after the party and made and egg bake for tailgating the next morning. While frying up the meat, Nick saw a mouse meandering around the fridge. (We probably scared the crap out of him- literally.) I didn't freak out too badly. (but I did refuse to eat in our house for a good week.... cheap diet!) Saturday morning we woke up very early and headed down to SKI-U- MAH lot at TCF Bank Stadium. Aidan came with and we had a great time tailgating and the weather was WONDERFUL! It was a great way for us to end our stint at Gopher's games for the year. (We have sold our last two sets of tix.)

The following week was equally exciting! On Thursday, I was able to help out with Aidan's Halloween party at school. I love being able to volunteer to help in his classroom. He only had four days of school that week due to a teacher's workshop. On Friday we were able to hang out with Liz and Hannah. We went to applebee's with the kids and then went back to Liz's parents house so Aidan and Hannah could play and Hannah could take a nap. It was nice to be able to catch up!

Later that night, we met the Peper family at Mall of America so that the dads could take Aidan and Annika on rides at Nickelodeon Universe. They had so much fun on rides! We then went out to dinner at Crave. They were so wonderful to us there and they were great for the kids! We had a really good time

Aidan and I went over to my parents house for Halloween. He decided he would save us some money and was a power ranger (one of his dress up costumes). He went trick or treating with Uncle Jeff and made a killing! Nick stayed at our house to hand out candy, which he quickly learned he didn't enjoy doing.

The first part of November has had a lot of firsts. Aidan started his first day of both basketball and wrestling. He really enjoys being in sports! Nick's birthday was also on the 7th. We went out to dinner for his birthday to The Cheesecake Factory and it was horrible. Our service was terrible, Nick's food was disgusting, and it was just awful! (Nick couldn't even tell anyone that his food was terrible, because the server never came to check if everything was okay.) We will probably never go there again.

Last night we went to Friday's again with Nick's family for his birthday. It was nice, except Nick kept eating all my food!
